You May Have TMJ Disorder

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) is a neuromuscular problem that can show up in a variety of ways. Pain is one of the most debilitating symptoms because so many areas of the body are affected. These include headaches, neck and shoulder pain, as well as jaw and back soreness.

The chronic nature of these symptoms, which can wax and wane, may lead to insomnia anxiety, and depression. This can cause a decline in your quality of life. In addition, TMD is often accompanied by grinding teeth, excessive tooth wear, clicking jaw, gum recession and ringing or stuffiness in the ears.

TMD is not easily diagnosed. Therefore, many doctors and dentists misdiagnose these symptoms. Since your jaw is part of your overall oral health care, it's important to have a dentist that is skilled and knowledgeable in teeth, gums, and jaw disorders.

Dr. Wendling is a graduate and certified instructor at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and is highly trained in diagnosing and treating TMD. Her extensive experience includes the use of the latest neuromuscular technology available to ensure your optimal oral health.

If you suspect that you have TMD, please consult with Dr. Wendling immediately to alleviate your discomfort and prevent the condition from worsening. Please call our office to schedule your appointment.
