Many people don't realize they have a cavity until the tooth hurts, at which point it has become seriously decayed. Many dental offices don't have the technology to locate decay before the patient brings it to their attention.
Dr. Wendling, however, has invested in state-of-the-art technology that lets her diagnose tooth decay very early, before it begins to spread.
The DIAGNOdent© system for early cavity detection
Our high-tech DIAGNOdent dental imaging system lets us take precise, accurate readings of your teeth, and locate even the smallest cavities before they begin to cause serious damage.
Using a precise diode laser, the computerized DIAGNOdent system lets us scan your teeth thoroughly, inspecting the readings for wavelengths that indicate early stages of tooth decay.
When decay is located very early, we can repair its damage far less invasively often times using a miniature sandblaster instead of a drill, using one of our mercury free tooth colored dental restoration options to fill in tiny holes and repair minor damage before it starts to cause major problems.
If the diagnodent doesn't indicate the prescence of decay, consider a precisely placed dental sealant. Sealants aren't just for kids. They are for any tooth that hasn't yet decayed.
