Tooth straightening with Invisalign is convenient and effective. You would wear a series of removable, clear plastic aligners, created according to Portland Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Sue Wendling’s plan, which would gradually nudge your teeth into better alignment and transform your smile.

How Invisalign works

The Invisalign system works by using a series of graduated aligners, which you change approximately every two weeks. You can remove them any time, but should remove them only to eat and do daily brushing and flossing.

Each aligner gently coaxes your smile a step closer to the final result, moving your teeth closer into alignment. The length of your treatment and the number of aligners will depend on the extent of tooth repositioning needed to achieve your optimal alignment.

The Invisalign procedure

During your initial visit, we will make molds of your upper and lower teeth. Using the Invisalign software, Dr. Wendling will determine how many pairs of aligners will be needed and exactly how they will move teeth in the two-week period each pair is worn. In your next visit, we will give you several pairs of aligners and ask you to wear them in the right sequence.

After about six weeks, you will have a follow-up visit so Dr. Wendling can assess your progress and answer any questions.
